UPM Tilhill appoints Robert Cox to head new Chilterns District
UPM Tilhill, the UK’s leading forestry and landscaping company, has appointed Robert Cox as District Manager for its new Chilterns District based at Little Haseley, Oxford.
Robert is joined by Alastair Stirling, Forest Manager; Jonathan Windle, Contract Manager; and Iaian Bruce, Estimator. Together, the team will specialise in commercial hard and soft landscaping; site clearance and ground preparation; road and railside vegetation management; tree survey and surgery; conservation works; habitat creation and forestry and woodlands projects.
UPM Tilhill’s re-establishment of a dedicated Chilterns District, formerly part of the broader Anglia and Chilterns District, aims to better serve and expand its client base across west London, parts of Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, the Cotswolds, the Chilterns, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.
“I am delighted to be at the helm of the new Chilterns office and look forward to nurturing a thriving, operational district for UPM Tilhill,” said Robert. “I believe our existing and new clients, many of whom will be based in Oxford, Reading, Coventry, Slough, Luton and Northampton, will benefit from the improved accessibility and good local knowledge that our dedicated local team will provide.”
Robert joined UPM Tilhill in July 2007 with outstanding landscaping and grounds management skills. He began his career in the 1980’s working for the London Borough of Ealing where he spent 20 years, progressing from gardener to Grounds Maintenance Manager; securing the City and Guilds Certificate of Management and a Diploma of Management along the way. A further 3 years followed in contract management roles within the independent commercial landscaping sector. Robert lives in Northwood Middlesex just on the Eastern border of the district.
“We are delighted with Rob’s appointment to head the Chiltern district,” said Peter Middleton, Commercial Director, UPM Tilhill. "Rob brings experience, enthusiasm and drive to this role and I am confident that he will drive significant growth for the Chilterns District."
