UPM Tilhill wins contract renewal from Central Networks

UPM Tilhill, the UK's leading arboriculture and environmental works company, has been awarded a new contract with Central Networks to undertake vegetation management operations in the East Midlands.

The five-year contract involves the clearance and ongoing maintenance of vegetation encroachment across all networks in the Hinckley and Sleaford areas of the East Midlands.

"Our dedicated utility management team has worked with Central Networks in the East Midlands since 2002 and is delighted to have secured this contract renewal. The priority will be on making sure power lines remain clear of vegetation in order to ensure public safety and continuity of supply", said Peter Middleton, Commercial Director, UPM Tilhill.

Said Bob Halsey, Central Networks, "We awarded the contract to UPM Tilhill because of its shared commitment to a zero accident and incident culture and because it is well-placed to support Central Networks in maintaining a safe and secure electricity network."

UPM Tilhill holds the 2009 Central Networks Safety Team Award.
