Hylands Park Restoration

Project: Vegetation clearance and tree surgery for restoration of a historic park
Client: Chelmsford Borough Council and Heritage Lottery Fund
Value: £190,000

Hylands Park was designed and constructed by Humphrey Repton in the 18th century. The objective of the project was to remove later ad hoc tree planting to restore the original design.

The work included large-scale vegetation clearance, including in ecologically sensitive areas, stump grinding and reinstatement, veteran tree maintenance, tree surgery and work on potential bat roost trees. Shredded vegetation from the project was supplied to the client for their local compost creation operations.
