Project: Landscaping of four new DLR stations
Client: AMEC
Value: £140,000
Ornamental landscaping project at four new stations on the recently opened London City Airport extension to the Docklands Light Railway.
UPM Tilhill completed work at London City Airport, King George V, West Silvertown and Pontoon Dock stations. The team on site worked closely with main contractor AMEC to keep roads and pavements open to the public at all times, and overcome limited access to planting areas.

Landscaping of the four stations' approach roads and environs involved:
- planting semi-mature trees and over 100 extra heavy (18-20cm) and multi-stemmed trees.
- planting 33,200 container grown shrubs.
- bark mulching.
- grass seeding.
- UPM Tilhill will maintain the sites for a further five years.
